General & Practice Policies
An oculoplastic surgeon is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has completed an intensive, highly competitive fellowship specializing exclusively in the plastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgery of the eyelids, tear ducts, and surrounding facial structures. This dual expertise ensures the highest standard of cosmetic beauty while strictly protecting the health and function of your eyes.
Our practice operates strictly on a private-pay basis for all cosmetic and aesthetic procedures. By removing insurance constraints, we are able to provide you with premium, cutting-edge technology, and a completely customized treatment plan.
Yes. To ensure dedicated time with our specialist, we require a non-refundable deposit to secure your cosmetic consultation slot. This entire amount is fully credited toward any surgical procedure, injectable, or advanced skincare treatment you book with us.
Surgical Procedures & Safety
All surgical procedures are performed either in our private, in-office surgical suite or at a local ambulatory surgery center.
Most cosmetic eyelid procedures (such as blepharoplasty) are performed under local anesthesia combined with light oral or intravenous (IV) sedation. This ensures you remain completely relaxed, comfortable, and pain-free, without the longer recovery times associated with general anesthesia.
Blood thinners, aspirin, NSAIDs, GLP-1s and certain herbal supplements must be discontinued two weeks before surgery under your prescribing physician’s guidance.
No. Because your vision may be temporarily blurry from post-procedure ointments and swelling, you must arrange for a responsible adult driver to pick you up from your surgery.
Surgical Recovery & Care
Initial swelling and bruising are completely normal; they typically peak at 48 hours and improve significantly over 10 to 14 days. Most patients feel socially comfortable returning to public activities or desk work after two weeks.
Fine eyelid sutures are precisely placed to minimize scarring. These are gently checked and removed in our office 5 to 7 days following your procedure.
You must keep the eye area entirely clean and free of cosmetics during initial healing. Eye makeup and active anti-aging skincare products can be safely resumed two weeks after surgery, once the incisions have completely closed.
Our surgeon utilizes advanced micro-surgical techniques to place incisions hidden within the natural creases of your upper eyelids, or entirely inside the lower eyelids making eventual scarring virtually invisible. We also offer laser therapy during and after surgery to aid in healing.
Non-Surgical Under-Eye & Brow Treatments
Yes. By strategically injecting neurotoxins into the specific muscle groups that pull the eyebrows downward, we can relax those muscles. This creates a subtle, elegant, non-surgical brow lift that opens up the eye area temporarily.
The tear trough requires exceptional anatomical knowledge due to its complex network of blood vessels. We use specialized, blunt-tipped micro-cannulas rather than sharp needles to safely and smoothly restore volume under the eyes.
Dermal fillers are highly effective at camouflaging mild-to-moderate hollows by smoothing out the transition between the cheek and the eyelid. However, if your under-eye bags are caused by severe fat prolapse, a lower blepharoplasty surgery is required for a smooth, permanent result.
Treatment depends on the root cause. If dark circles are caused by shadows from a hollow tear trough, filler resolves them instantly. If they are caused by skin pigmentation or vascular pooling, we treat them using medical-grade skincare, specialized peels, or targeted lasers.
Neurotoxins generally last between 3 to 4 months. High-quality under-eye fillers are highly durable due to the low movement of the area, frequently lasting anywhere from 9 to 18 months depending on your metabolism.
